Setting the Course Card Image
When learners see your course on your homepage, your catalog, even social media shares, the course card is the first thing they see, making it one of your first steps forward in convincing them to take a look.
In this guide we're going to look at what your image needs, and how to set it.
Image Requirements
Your course card images should ideally be:
- No larger than 1MB in file size (if possible, smaller is better)
- Saved and optimized for web in .jpg or .png format
- Image aspect ratio of 16:9 (that's 1920x1080, 384x216 or similar resolutions)
We do not recommend that you include text in your course card images unless absolutely necessary, as the edges of your course card can be lost on certain displays, at certain sizes, and on different social media platforms.
Setting your course card image
First, open up your course in Studio. Then, within Settings in the top navigation bar, click on Schedule and Details.

Next, scroll down until you see the Course Card Image section.

If you have a course image already uploaded to your files and uploads area, you can paste the URL of the image here to add it as your course image. If you are uploading a new course image when one is already set, please ensure that you use a new file name! Using the same file name (such as courseimage.png) may result in your old course image remaining cached for some users and not updating due to local caching.
If you do not have an image uploaded already, click on the Upload Course Card Image button on the right-hand side, and select your file to upload it.
Don't forget to hit Save Changes at the bottom of the page once you're done!
