Tahoe Site Pages
Site pages allow you to dispay content on your Tahoe LMS outside of courses, such as your course catalog, homepage, and privacy policy.
The pages available on your Tahoe site are currently preset and can only be enabled and disabled, not removed or customized beyond their content, but most pages (with the exception of the required pages) are effectively blank canvases that can hold whatever content you wish, so long as you do not mind the page slug being uneditable.
The following pages are available:
Required Pages
These pages must be used for their intended purposes, and are hard-linked to learners on your site when registering, viewing your course catalog, or performing password resets, among other activities.
- Index Page (/)
- Course Catalog (/courses)
- Course About (/course/course-id/about)
- Privacy Policy (/privacy)
- Terms of Service (/tos)
- Help (/help)
Most of these pages are self-explanatory in their purpose, but further information on their usage can be found in-app. The legal pages (Privacy Policy and Terms of Service) are extremely important to populate prior to allowing learners to register on your site, as without these in place, learners will be agreeing to the terms of "lorem ipsum" placeholder text when they register, rather than your actual site's terms and conditions.
Recommended Pages
The pages we recommend for your site are enabled by default, but can be disabled if you do not wish to include them. These pages are:
- Contact (/contact)
- About Us (/about)
- Tracks (/tracks)
- Copyright (/copyright)
- FAQ (/faq)
These pages are blank canvases that can hold any content, but typically include information that your learners will need when interacting with your site. We recommend populating these pages with relevant content.
The Tracks page in particular can be extremely useful for providing learners with guidance as to which of your courses they should study if they are interested in certain fields of study, or if there is a logical route of progression through your courses.
Please note that while the Contact page is useful for learners to find out how to contact you and your support team, and we highly recommend populating it, we do not recommend simply writing a plaintext email address onto this page. Doing so may result in the email being scraped by bots and added to spam registries. An embeddable form, or a link to an externally-hosted support portal would be preferable. If none of these are available, you may wish to obscure your email address, for example listing it as "support[at]site.com" rather than "support@site.com". This is imperfect, but will result in a cleaner inbox.
Optional Pages
The following pages are optional and are not typically used by most customers. You are welcome to use them however you wish, but please note that there are no specialist tools currently available for these pages (such as a blogging system for the blog page, or a donation collection system for the donate page).
- Donate (/donate)
- Honor (/honor)
- Jobs (/jobs)
- News (/news)
- Press (/press)
These pages are blank canvases that can hold any content, regardless of its purpose.
